The Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) Board of Directors established a Rates Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) to make recommendations to help achieve the district's conservation goals and to ensure adequate revenue stability and financial integrity.
The 14-member committee was comprised of representatives of various stakeholder groups in the community, including residential, multi-family, senior, business, financial, development, landscaping, and other stakeholders.
The CAC met six times between Aug. 15 and Oct. 31, 2007 to assess rate structure alternatives and develop general recommendations concerning the near- and long-term implementation of future rate increases.

The committee's analysis also included review of potential rate impacts on conservation, revenue sufficiency and customers of all classes. The CAC Recommendations Report was presented to the Board of Directors at the Nov. 20, 2007 meeting.
The LVVWD Board accepted the report and directed district staff to develop water rate alternatives that implement the CAC recommendations.
