Bring your Halloween pumpkin to the
Springs Preserve to be composted.

Pumpkin Composting

Bring your Halloween pumpkins to the Springs Preserve Nov. 1-22, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and they'll compost them for free. Composted pumpkins are used for environmentally friendly landscaping projects at the Springs Preserve. Please remove your candle and any decorations.

Christmas Tree Recycling

Bring your cut Christmas tree to the Springs Preserve Dec. 26 through Jan. 15, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and they'll recycle it for free. Recycled Christmas trees are chipped into mulch and used for environmentally friendly landscaping projects at the Springs Preserve and throughout the valley. Please remove your tree stand and all decorations. Flocked trees cannot be recycled.

The Springs Preserve offers a variety of classes that can help you make this holiday season an eco-friendly affair. To register for these classes, call Springs Preserve Adult Education at (702) 822-7786. Learn more about educational offerings at SpringsPreserve.org.

December Holidays

If you're usually the party planner, then this party is for you! December is full of holidays from Hanukkah to Christmas, Kwanzaa to Winter Solstice, even New Year's Eve. Stop by the Springs Preserve on Dec. 10 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and we'll revel in sustainable style and show you how to do it, too. Learn simple steps to make the holidays less stressful and more eco-friendly.

The cost for this class is $10 for non-members and $8 for members.

Holiday Leftovers

Ensuring that no food goes to waste is an important part of any sustainable pantry. If you're burned out on turkey sandwiches and at a loss for what to do with your cranberry sauce, join Chef Sherlock at the Springs Preserve on Dec. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. for creative recipe solutions that will make your leftover meals as memorable as the original dish.

The cost for this class is $25 for non-members and $20 for members.
