About Big Bend Water District
The Big Bend Water District provides water to Laughlin, Nevada.
The Big Bend Water District (BBWD) serves the Laughlin, Nevada community. Each year, the Big Bend Water District provides water for Laughlin's 8,800 citizens, as well as supplying water to support a large number of visitors.
The BBWD is a general improvement district and political subdivision of the State of Nevada that was created in 1983 to supply water to Laughlin residents and businesses. A Board of Trustees governs the BBWD and has jurisdiction over all if its affairs.
In 2008, the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD) was designated to serve as agent for the BBWD by the Big Bend Board of Trustees. LVVWD operates and maintains BBWD facilities.
The BBWD water treatment facility can treat up to 15 million gallons per day, and the water distribution system has a storage capacity of 6 million gallons.
